Feather River Recreation & Park District

The Feather River Recreation and Park District (FRRPD) spans approximately 631 square miles (403,770 acres) in the southeast portion of Butte County. It is the largest recreation service provider in Butte County and serves the southeastern portion of the County, extending to the County borders to the south and east. The City of Oroville is located within the District’s boundaries, and although it makes up only two percent of the land area in the FRRPD, it contains nearly 28 percent of the population. There are no other incorporated communities within the District. The lands within the District, outside of the City, are rural and include the unincorporated communities of Pulga, Cherokee, Thermalito, Brush Creek, Berry Creek, Feather Falls, Palermo, Wyandotte, Hurleton, Forbestown, Clipper Mills, Rackerby, Bangor, and Honcut.
