Service Districts
Community Services Districts are governed by California Government Code Sections 61000-61226.5 (CSD law). The governing body for each district is a five-person Board of Directors elected by the registered voters who reside within the District boundaries. Community Service Districts may only provide the services that have been approved by LAFCO. Other powers permissible under the CSD law but not actively provided are considered "latent" and may be activated if approved by LAFCO.
